Seeking a Friend...

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is one of those movies that I come across and don't know exactly what to make of it. While it looks interesting to say the least, I do know this, it should be good! The writer of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Lorene Scafaria, now brings us this wonderful comedy/drama about the end of days with Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. Check out the trailer below.

Looks cool, no? Definitely a role Steve can pull off and one I think we might all be used to seeing him in. I'm actually looking forward to this one, because it isn't the usual crap we're fed about the end of days. It looks like a series of events that's more likely to happen to an average person if a giant rock was about to destroy our planet.

You can expect this flick to hit theaters on June 22nd, 2012. Now I ask, who would you spend the end of days with?

Prototype 2!

Although I haven't finished playing the first Prototype, I can understand how people became hooked. The gameplay was nice and the storyline is pretty interesting, especially for a game. Now, after watching this film trailer for Prototype 2, I better hurry up and finish it so I can get the new one. Have you gotten it yet? It was released on Monday, April 24th, and I'm sure plenty of people might have even finished the game by now. What's the word? Did it live up to the expectations?

On another note, Johnny Cash was definitely a perfect fit for this trailer and what they were trying to convey here. If nothing else, this marketing alone should have given them a major bump in sales.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

I'll admit it, my little brother loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid and I just never got into them. Never saw the movies, nor did I read the books. However, this trailer has me rethinking my position. If the previous movies are as funny as this one appears to be, I have to definitely get them soon.

Is it just me or doesn't this trailer make this film look very funny? I don't know, maybe I'm lacking some humor in my life recently, but I'll probably be checking this out on August 3rd when it hits theaters.

God of War: Ascension

The highly anticipated God of War is coming back, and from the looks of it, he'll be human! That's right folks, Sony has announced that God of War: Ascension will be hitting shelves around Spring 2013 and that it will be a prequel to the others already in the series. So Ascension will take us all back to when it all began. Should lead for an interesting story line since Kratos will be human and battling the Gods, again.

What do you all think about this? Looking forward to the release? I know plenty of people that are waiting for this bad boy to come out already. Looks like they'll be getting their wish come 2013.

Hysteria!

Thanks to /Film I came across an interesting little trailer for this movie Hysteria. Although I'm usually not a fan of period pieces this far back in time, this one definitely caught my eye. You'll understand why after the trailer.

This should be hilarious, indeed. If you couldn't make what this film is about, then maybe you're much to young for the plot, but for those who understand, you're welcome. While I'm still skeptical about period pieces in general, this one might get a pass. Let's hope it isn't a disappointment.

Hysteria will be hitting theaters on May 18th, 2012.

#im24

This video illustrates perfectly what it feels like to be 24. I recently turned 24 myself, much like Pat, this month and it is a weird stage between young adult and actual adulthood.

Bravo, Pat, bravo. Luckily my buddy Hansel, who's also currently in this stage of limbo, forward me the video link. Now I'm sharing with the rest of you so you can know what it feels like to be 24, too.

Happy Monday everybody! If you want to keep up with Pat and all of his other awesome projects, check him out HERE.

Tupac's Back

Sixteen years after his death, Tupac was "resurrected" to perform at Coachella 2012.
*For those of you who don't know, Coachella is a three day music festival hosted in Indio, CA*

Even though Tupac has been gone for 16 years, he still put on a better performance then most rappers currently alive are able to do. The crowd erupted with cheers and applause as the hologram came to life in eerie form and said what up to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Check out the full performance below.

Creepy? Yes. Cool? Yes. Although I can understand why some people were upset about the show and thought it shouldn't have happened, the fact that this technology is available and being put to use is very exciting! Just think, what other dead artist will be brought back to life? How many hologram concerts will we now see? How many artist will you get to see in concert that you thought you'd never be able too?

All very intriguing questions, at least for any tech-nerd that's excited by the possibilities this presents. Aren't you even a little interested in seeing where this goes? Will it become a fad? I, for one, am looking forward to this moving forward and getting wildly popular. Let's see who else they "bring back" from the dead.

P.S. Can't forget the comedy behind all of this, too.

BP's Oil Spill Still Wreaking Havoc

The article I read on Gizmodo yesterday about the aftermath happening to the wildlife in the Gulf because of BP's oil spill was truly saddening and horrifying. First, because I love the ocean and find it to be one of the most majestic things about this wonderful planet of ours. Secondly, because I happen to also love seafood, and lastly, because if we don't care for our environment, who will?!

Honestly folks, we continuously do things to this beautiful planet and have people who consistently defend the notion that there's nothing wrong with it. I just don't understand how people can be so blinded. Things are changing and the earth is slowly dying. What do you think will happen to the human race if we can no longer sustain ourselves because of our harsh carelessness?

It is ridiculous for BP to be stating that the Gulf is "as safe now as it was before the accident." Absolute rubbish! If that was the case then we wouldn't have Gulf fishermen pulling out shrimps with tumors and no eyes; fish without eyes, eye-sockets, and large pink masses hanging off their bodies; and crabs without claws, with holes in their shells, that are slowly dying from within. Heartbreaking indeed. Check the video out.

Horrible deformities that are slowly killing our wildlife. How can we stand by and just watch this happen? How can they say things haven't changed?

Dishonored!

Revenge solves everything...

Enjoy playing the Uncharted and Assassin's Creed series? Well, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy playing Dishonored then! While this hasn't received a US release date, it is scheduled to hit stores sometime in 2012. The debut trailer was just launched this week, check it out below!

Interesting to say the least. Definitely seems to be a mix of the two games, while having a few distinct qualities as well. Essentially you're an assassin with supernatural powers and are driven by revenge. Although the time in which this is all taking place seems to be a bit mixed between old age and futuristic, I think it works well. Another highlight being that your decisions, on how to carry out the murders, will affect the overall missions and your game play moving forward (something we're seeing a lot of in recent games).

All in all, this thing looks sweet! I can't wait to finally hear a release date and get to see more game play action. What about you? Sold on this one yet?

Looper

If you aren't a Joseph Gordon-Levitt fan yet, I don't know what to tell you (Inception, 50/50, 500 Days of Summer). This man has talent, and I can't wait to continue seeing his future work. Just check out this trailer below.

Simply amazing. The writing for this one seems interesting, the acting/cast looks great, and the direction feels like something I can definitely get behind. Think about it, you're a hired hitman, who kills people that are sent back from the future. Everything is fine and dandy, until you are the person they send back from the future to be killed. Interesting indeed.

Looper is scheduled to be released on September 28th, 2012.

I'm in. Are you?

Behind the Scenes

How often do we get to see the brilliance that is Steven Spielberg behind the camera? Not his movies, I mean literally behind the camera! Luckily I came across this awesome rare footage from the set of Jurassic Park thanks to the team over at /Film. Check it out!

Since we are rarely afforded an actual behind the scenes of movie sets, this was definitely a pleasant video for me to watch, and I hope you enjoyed it as well!

Happy Monday!

Medal of Honor: Warfighter

I was definitely a fan of the 13th Medal of Honor game that hit shelves in 2010, so when I saw this trailer I knew I just had to share!

While the story mode in the last one was extremely short, I truly hope they addressed the matter in this one and made it so that we could enjoy the game. I know people usually get war games these days for the multi-player capabilities, but call me old fashion. I enjoy a nice campaign, sue me.

Make It Count!

What happens when Nike gives an Internet video maker an advance and orders him to #makeitcount? Pure awesomeness. Check it out!

Boy, what I wouldn't do to be able to get an advance sizable enough to take a trip of the world in 10 days. What would you do if you had the money? Would you come up with a witty way to spend it? Would you simply do as you were told? I'm really curious as to how people would go about it.

Comment and let me know!

Push The Red Button!

Found this little jewel over at The Chive. Hilarious if you ask me. Check it out.

Let's face it, if you find a big red button oddly placed, wouldn't you push it? While I'm not exactly sure what made TNT decide to do this, I do think it was brilliant! I can only hope to one day come across something so awesome and clever as this!

Back in Black!

I think it's safe to say that we've all become skeptical of movie sequels that venture well into the future. Something about a franchise that elapses an obscene amount of time without making an appearance, and all of a sudden decides it's time. Well, they just tend to disappoint, more often than not.

However, there are exceptions to the rules. Every so often there are gems that surprise us and make a successful resurgence; much like American Reunion, and from the looks of it, Men in Black III.

Now that I understand how they plan on tying in the time travel twist, I admit it, I'm in. I want to check it out and think it'll definitely be enjoyable. The MIB franchise was always fun and interesting, so I'm hoping this one stays true to its predecessors and doesn't disappoint.

Are you sold on MIB III yet?

The Dictator Might Be Worth It

To be completely honest, I didn't enjoy Borat. Thus leading me to believe I wouldn't enjoy anything else Sacha Baron Cohen would put out, which is why I never saw Brüno and wasn't planning on seeing The Dictator either. That was my mindset, until I saw this trailer.

Although it isn't exactly my brand of comedy, this trailer of The Dictator actually caught my attention and made me laugh. It appears that it will be a similar type of humor, but not entirely the same, thus allowing me to gain interest in this project. Let's hope I'm not disappointed on May 11th, 2012 after watching it.

What do you think about The Dictator? Are you Sacha Baron Cohen fans or nay?

The Monster Mash!

I love a great cartoon film. Plain and simple, it is refreshing, nostalgic, and a lot of fun. There's nothing like enjoying stories you heard as a young kid, transformed to the big screen (all depending on who's doing the directing and writing of course - here's looking at you Michael Bay -_-). Obvious examples aside, when done right, a new movie about old favorites can be really awesome. Check out the trailer below to see what I mean.

Now is it me, or does Hotel Transylvania look like a hit? I mean, the characters are classics, the story is fresh, and the voice cast is phenomenal (Sandler, James, and Spade, just to name a few)! Not only are the voices great, but the directing is being helmed by Genndy Tartakovsky. Although his name might not be familiar to you, I'm sure his work is. He's directed, produced, and written some of the better cartoons during my childhood, such as; Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls, and Star Wars: Clone Wars.

So I don't know about you, but I'll definitely be waiting to check this out on September 21st, 2012 when it hits theaters.

Sleep or Die

I came across this lovely inforgraphic about sleep deprivation thanks to the good people over at YourLocalSecurity.com. This one in particular touches close to home, because I didn't start actually getting the adequate hours of sleep until after college.

Prior to entering the "adult" world, I would hardly sleep more than 6 hours a night. Roughly putting me into the category of average American, but still potentially risky. Read all of the risk if you don't believe me.

Lack of Sleep Infographic

Bet you'll be trying harder to get more sleep tonight. I know I'm glad to be in the 8 hour bracket now.

Ted Is Real

How awesome would it be to have your childhood teddy bear come to life? Awesome, right? I'd think so! I didn't consider, however, what would happen to said bear once we'd grown up. Well, check out the trailer for Ted to get an idea of what might be the out come.

Hilarious. Beyond hilarious. This one for me is a must see and I can't wait until it hits theaters on July 13th, 2012. While I'm a bit skeptical about MacFarlane's comedy in a feature length format, I hope he doesn't over due it. I know Family Guy is hilarious and all, but it does get old. Not to mention that this needs to keep our attention for more then half an hour. Hopefully Markie Mark and Mila can balance out Ted and we'll thoroughly enjoy it. Hopefully.

Rise of the Guardians

We all grew up learning about Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and many other childhood characters that either gave us money for teeth or eggs on Easter or spied on us daily to determine if we were naughty or nice. Now, Rise of the Guardians, will give us a new outlook on these lovable creatures and tales we're all fond of. Check out the trail below.

With my birthday month here, and my ever increasing in years unavoidable, I find this an interesting and welcomed take on these lovable characters from our youth. Santa's "Naughty" and "Nice" tattoos, for example, are a perfect way to depict the big guy for this film in my opinion. Even as adults we can enjoy a cartoon or animated movie, and this is one I plan on doing so. With a solid voice cast and Dreamworks Animation's track record, I think it's safe to say that this will be one to look out for; it'll hit theaters on November 21st, 2012.

Will you check it out?

For Old Time's Sake

It's Monday. We're already thinking about this coming Friday and how short this past weekend was. Trust me, we're all on the same boat. This being why I wanted to remind all of you that American Reunion is hitting theaters this Friday, April 6th!

The cast is all back and so are the inappropriate jokes, behavior, and parties. Awesomeness is sure to ensue with these fools getting back together and once again reliving their High School days.

Hopefully I won't be disappointed, but I highly doubt it. What do you all think?
