Well, another week passes and I am that much closer to another milestone in my life. BUT, more on that later.
Right now it is time to give you the trailers of what's going down this weekend. While the first movie I'm going to talk about has been out for a while now, I didn't post it before and it should have definitely been a recommendation.
RED is a movie about a team of CIA agents who have long been retired but were tagged as R.E.D. (Retired and Extremely Dangerous) by the agency. Now they must get together and take it to the CIA in hopes of ending the death order placed out on them. From the looks of the trailer, I just might have to check it out.
The new movie that is coming out and I'm sure everybody is going to check out is SAW 3D. I know people love this series, but I don't remember the last one I saw. I think it was probably the second movie. Anyway, it needs no introduction. Check out the video; will you be watching it this weekend?
Last weekend's records aren't surprising:
Paranormal Activity 2 beat out everybody and earned $40,678,424. Taking the #1 spot.
Hereafter jumped from the #28 spot to #4 earning $12,018,14.

A Cat's Gift
Here is a comic strip I found on my younger cousin's blog, Memoirs of a Quiche, from the site Buttersafe. From the strips I've seen over at Buttersafe, I can say some are great and some...not so much.
Anywho, I wanted to share this one with you all! I found it hilarious.
Enjoy! Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Weekend At The Movies - Oct. 22nd '10
The weekend is here! The weekend is here! Well, almost here!! That means that there are some new movies coming out that you should check out.
The first movie, which I'm sure will take first place, is Paranormal Activity 2. Our society loves scary movies and anything that will scare them, especially in October! I saw the first one and enjoyed it, wasn't really scared, but thought it was a good movie. This is why I want to watch this one too. I enjoy the camera work and story line (I let myself believe it is true). What do you all think of it? Check out the trailer below.
The other movie that seems really interesting and will probably do well in the box office is Hereafter. This Eastwood directed flick looks at three people who are haunted by mortality each in their own way. With Damon at the helm, this should be good. I like the guy and enjoy his movies. What do you all think? You be the judge.
Last weekend's box office earnings look like this:
Conviction came in at #39 earning $102,351
Carlos came in at #58 earning $20,006
and of course Jackass 3-D was #1 earning $50,353,641!!

Weekend At The Movies - Oct. 15th '10
A day late, but as they say, better late then never! I was stuck all day at school and work yesterday, so here's this weekend's movie post!
Even though I'm positive Jackass 3D will most likely take home the first place spot this weekend, I'm not a fan and want to share two other movies I think will be worth a watch.
First we have Conviction, which is the story about Betty Anne and her struggle to prove her brother Kenny's innocence. Kenny gets sentenced to life for murder and Betty Anne, who is a high school drop out, puts herself through school in order to become a lawyer and take up her brother's case to help exonerate him. Yup, that's right. In the film she must complete a G.E.D., BA, and lastly a JD. Best part about this movie? It is based on a true story! Honestly, this seems like a winner in my book. Check out the trailer below.
The other movie I would suggest you check out is yet another bio pic. This one is a much different story. Carlos shows us the life and times of Ilich Ramirez Sanchez. Ilich, whose a.k.a was Carlos and then Jackal, was a Venezuelan-born leftist revolutionary who caused a lot of mayhem in his time. He was known for raiding the OPEC headquarters in Vienna in 1975. For those of you into politics, terrorism, and revolutionary movements, this might be worth checking out. Here's the trailer:
Last weekend's records aren't surprising:
The Social Network is still dominating at the #1 spot earning $15,451,991
Life as We Know It came in at #2 earning $14,506,464
It's Kind of a Funny Story came in last at #12 earning $2,013,406
*side note - I wouldn't mind getting a cut of a film that came in 12 place. 2 million?? Wow.*

Medal of Honor
I saw a commercial for this game on Sunday and I MUST have it! One of the reviews says that Call of Duty has met its match and I couldn't agree more. If the game play is anything like the trailers below indicate, this game is sure to be a hit. Check out these trailers:
Now, doesn't that look awesome? I haven't played, or turned my PS3 on for that matter, for a while. However, there are some releases that are coming out soon, that will definitely make me think twice about getting those games and wasting my nights playing them, as opposed to doing my school papers.
Here are two more trailers for your enjoyment. Nothing like adding Linkin Park tracks to a military game trailer to get you that much more into it!
I'm looking forward to getting this game. Hope it isn't a let down. Weigh in below and tell me what you think?

Weekend At The Movies - Oct. 8th '10
Saw The Social Network last weekend and it was really a good movie. This weekend I'm looking forward to two releases. First, and probably a box office winner this weekend in my book, is Life As We Know It. It is a beautiful story and appears to have comedy all throughout. Check out the trailer below:
Secondly, is It's Kind of a Funny Story. While I must admit, I'm on the fence about this one, a part of me is still interested in checking it out. I hope it turns out to be a good movie, but I think I might wait to hear from people first before checking it out. Here's the trailer so you can judge for yourself:
Lastly, here are the earnings for this past weekend:
The Social Network opened at #1 & earned $22,445,653
&
Case 39 opened at #7 & earned $5,350,570

MTA = The Death of NYC
MTA equals the Death of NYC, for me anyway. I refuse to live in this city any longer. I was already on the edge and leaning towards moving away...far away...but this just sealed the deal.
This morning the MTA got together to vote on their proposed fare hike to take effect on January 2011. The vote was approved 12 to 2, making the single ride $2.50 from $2.25 and skyrocketing the monthly MetroCards to $104 instead of $89 (the savings riders usually get for buying the monthly cards is being reduced from 15% to only 7%).
This is the third hike we have seen in three years! Not only have we had hikes, but we have had service CUTS! That's right, CUTS! Incredible. Ridiculous. Stupid.
Then we have the MTA's chief, Jay Walder, tell us that Albany didn't keep their part of the deal, which is why the hike is happening. Also, that the hike is less then they NEED to reach their expected revenue.
Sorry, I forget where that is the rider's fault?! We have dealt with the other hikes, we have continued riding these horrible lines, and the MTA has continuously cut services and let go of employees. How are they STILL in the negative?!
I'm tired of paying for horrible service and the MTA's horrible budgeting mishaps. It is time to move. Love you NYC, but our time to part has come.
Until I can move, I have decided to get a bike and use that as a means of transportation. I've been looking around and I want a road bike that can get me around the city and that is light weight. Like the one below:
