First Baby Blue Whale Caught on Film

The video below is the first video of a baby Blue Whale swimming around in the "Dome" (off the coast of Costa Rica); a warm-water region that draws Blue Whales from hundreds of miles away. Baby Blue Whales average 25 feet at birth and are nursed for about seven months. In those seven months, they usually double in size, gaining about 200 pounds a day. This makes them the biggest babies ever known to roam the Earth.

Before the Blue Whales were almost hunted to extinction, until a worldwide ban was established in 1966. Today they are still listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Isn't it beautiful? Natural beauty at it's best. I hope the next generations are able to continue seeing the beauty our world holds.
