VIVA MAYDAY!!

Finally the album has dropped! Who's VIVA MAYDAY you ask? Well, it's a band of three young and highly talented men. This album, being their first, has a little bit for all music lovers. "Incorporating reggae riffs, light-punk undertones and classic rock arrangements, this beat-savvy album spans the musical spectrum" writes Phil Bildner for the Band's Bio.

They have been playing countless number of shows at some of the most notable Greenwich Village nightclubs, which probably gives them a leg up on the competition. With a willingness to play as many shows as possible, the band is sure to spread it's name quickly. They play music festivals, battle of the bands, college shows and anything else they can get their hands on. Keep an see out for this up and coming trio and make sure to check out their album! It's on Itunes, just look up VIVA MAYDAY. To see the band live, just watch the video below!

Blue Man Group

This must have been, no correction, this IS the BEST birthday gift anyone has ever given me! This year my girlfriend took me to go see the Blue Man Group performance. I had seen their ads and passed the studio a couple of times, but never knew what they were about.

Of course, she kept it a secret where we were going until we actually walked into the theater, but it was well worth the wait. Their performance was great!! I was amazed at their use of colors, tubes (which is one of the ways they make music) and drums. The entire cast was great, from the three Blue men, to the band, to the crew members who picked up the mess they made! Beware, they do pick people out of the crowd!! I must admit, that little factor almost gave me a heart attack. While they are talented when it comes to music, they are also talented at making a huge mess! Another precaution I must give, if your sitting anywhere near the front, you might get dirty. They try and make up for it by offering those in the few front seats 'ponchos' which are made out of paper bags, don't help much depending on the mess. It's all worth it though!!!

It's extremely entertaining and definitely a must see!! I am so grateful that my girlfriend took me to see them! Thank you L.A. ;) You rock!!

I have added a video clip from one of their shows, hope you all enjoy!! I would highly suggest you all go check it out if you have not done so!!

Big Brother is

So today was a rainy day in good old NYC, so I did something I almost NEVER do. That is take the bus after getting off the subway on my way to school. Since the train leaves me across town and I didn't feel like walking in the rain (since I don't carry an umbrella), I decided to hop on the bus which was right there. To my amazement, I saw four cameras on the bus!! The New Yorkers know what I'm talking about, because we never had cameras on buses before. Although cameras would be useful for safety purposes, it was a surreal feeling to actually see the cameras. After arriving at school, I quickly went to the computer lab (in order to finish my final papers and presentations) and looked up information about the cameras. I came across a good article which covered the new cameras in depth. THIS ARTICLE was very informative. While I completely agree with the fact that cameras should make rides safer for drivers as well as passengers, but doesn't it only add to their arsenal of surveillance? Doesn't it seem as though they are just trying to find more ways to keep track of our daily lives? I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but will be the first to admit, things might start to get out of hand.

GO SPEED GO!

Well, although the critics murdered the movie, I actually enjoyed it. I went in thinking it was going to be a bore, but found it fun. I enjoyed the movie all throughout. Of course, it doesn't compare to Iron Man, but what do you expect? It's a movie based on a cartoon that wasn't all that great to begin with.

Kids loved it, for sure. It's not a movie made for adults, although some things in the movie were too much for the younger viewers, it's mostly geared towards the younger crowd, I felt.

If you loved Speed Racer while growing up, I propose you give the movie a chance. Just don't walk into the theater expecting an Iron Man or Matrix quality film. Remember it's all in good fun. While the critics bashed it, I enjoyed it. This is my personal opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Iron Man

So this past Sunday night, I went out to see Iron Man. I had spent the entire day at a car dealership with my close friend who was buying a car. We felt like it took forever. Honestly, it got to the point where we were both falling asleep at the desk. Anyways, we finally finished up around 6ish or so and decided to make plans. So we both hit up our girlfriends and tell them we're heading to dinner and a movie.

Iron Man was definitely NOT a waste of time! Nor was it a disappointment. I'm not a big comic fan, but I am a movie fan and I must say, this one is worth seeing. Not like most of these superhero movies now a days that just suck or murder the storyline. It was actually true to the Iron Man plot and Robert Downey Jr surely played a great role. He was a great Tony Stark. So I give it two big thumbs up and highly suggest it! Also, make sure to stay after the credits if you like for a short glimpse of something you might find interesting.

Iron Man however only calmed my nerves for the true Blockbuster hit of the summer......
